I work as an employee for a small to medium sized business which is based in the North West of England. Over the last six months we have been working on a large project for one of our major clients. During this project we needed to locate an affordable DVD duplication/DVD authoring company to aid us with the task. In this article I will be writing about the way in which I managed to find such a company.

To be fair and to be honest with the readers of this article I must confess that I am not in that important of a role within the business - just one of the many small cogs! I am a kind of admin guy in truth. I was however entrusted with the task of locating the DVD authoring service which again I am aware is not exactly brain surgery.

I started by looking in our local yellow pages. There were quite a few companies advertising that they were offering such a service and I then started phoning a number of them. I wrote a spreadsheet with the prices and an overview of the services provided including turnaround times. I then looked at the advertisements in the local newspapers - there were however very very few adverts in this field - but again I did phone the two companies that were promoting themselves.

It was then the turn of the world wide web. I simply went to one of the main search engines and typed “DVD authoring service” into the search box and pressed search etc. This provided me with a multitude of options and again I started to telephone a number of them. To my amazement these prices via the internet were far cheaper than the other two sources and therefore it was a bit of a no brainer who to choose. Yes I went with a company that I found online.
