Finding Niche Markets

Monday, June 6th, 2011

One of the first hurdles that new affiliate marketers face is finding niche markets that are profitable. There are so many choices available, which one is going to be the most profitable?

It is widely recognized that three niches in particular will make you money;

  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Love

But when you examine these niches more closely there are soooo many topics and products that are included in them.

In the health niche - excluding Cancer, a quick list includes eyesight, hearing, impotence, yeast infections, aging, acne, coughs, general health, supplements, memory, asthma, diet, fitness, muscle building, pregnancy, grey hair, STD’s, back pain, neck pain, constipation, hemorrhoids and cysts.

In the Wealth niche you can have the make money online, Forex trading, Internet marketing, MLM…..

In the Love niche you have dating, get your ex back, finding love…..

What do they have in common?

  • They all stem from problems that people are more than willing to look up online to get relief from.
  • These are subjects and problems that people often do not want to talk to anyone about or have spoken to someone about and not got relief from.
  • Finding niche markets like health, wealth and love have so many sub-niche and product possibilities you may never have to choose another niche again.

What about other niches?

Finding niche markets that are also profitable does take a bit more research.

The best resources to go to when looking at finding niche markets that are profitable are eBay, Google, Amazon and Dummies.com.

Amazon and eBay have a great way to tell you how popular a product is. Simply go to their bestseller lists and look at the reviews for each product. Only about 5% of buyers will actually write a review, so if it has more than 40 reviews, then chances are that it is a good seller.

You know those books like Computers for Dummies, or Parenting for Dummies? Well, books take a lot of time and expense to create so if the Dummies group has created one, then you can pretty well guarantee that it is profitable to do so.

Google is another way of finding niche markets that are profitable. Do a quick search for your product and have a look across at the paid advertising for it. The rough rule here is that the more ads that there are in the sponsored results section, the more profitable that niche is.

Give it a try with a topic or niche that you might like to promote. You may just surprize yourself!
